Rev Malcolm Davidson’s Mother-in -law: Isabel

It is with sadness to inform you that the Rev Malcolm Davidson’s Mother-in -law, Isabel, passed away peacefully on Sunday night, 1 July. 

A memorial service will be held on Thursday 5 July at 10:00 am at Kingsgate Fellowship, corner Blouberg Road and Study Street, Table View.

Please hold Ann and Malcolm and family in your thoughts and prayers.

Bangile Pitoyi brother of Rev Thembeka Pitoyi

TO ALL UPCSA THE MINISTERS

Dear Colleagues,

Please pray for the Rev Thembeka Pitoyi and his family, as they are dealing with a tragic death of his elder brother, Bangile Pitoyi. Bangile and his family were attacked at their home in Gugulethu, Cape Town on 23 June 2018 around 18:00. He was fatally shot. His wife was shot in the arm and had a fracture. His last born daughter is struggling for her life at the Red Cross Hospital ICU.

The funeral arrangements will be announced, as soon as the family has decided. We pray that the Almighty God will comfort the Pitoyi family at this time of sorrow and need. Let us continue to pray against crime in our societies.

Bereavement – Former wife of Rev. Mohapi

Dear Presbyters,

It is with sadness that we inform you of the passing of Mrs. Nokuthula Khumalo (Mohapi), former wife of Rev. Mantsi Mohapi, on Sunday 20th May 2018.

She has been struggling with her health for some time.

A service will be held on:

Saturday 26th May 2018 from 09H00 to 11H00

at St. Mungo’s United Church, Corner of William Nicol and Grosvenor roads, Bryanston, Sandton.

Bereavement Deceased – Probationer Eric Masikane’s sister passed away – 5 April 2018

I received sad news that Eric J Masikane who serves as a probationer at Ejokweni Congregation within the Thukela Presbytery, lost his elder sister, Lindiwe Masikane.

She will be laid to rest this coming Saturday, on 08 April 2018. The service will commence at 9h00 at 174 Cooper Street in Greytown.

We pray that the Lord our God will be with the whole Masikane family and friends and give them our sincere condolences. May God give them strength and courage as they deal with their loss.

Bereavement Rev Chris Barnard & Rev Magagane’s father in law

Deceased – the Rev Chris Barnard passed away

Please keep the Rev Dr Chris Barnard’s family in your thoughts and prayers as we have received the very sad news that he passed away at his home in Winklespruit last Sunday. He was 91 years old and still preaching at the Tongaat and Phoenix Congregations within the Presbytery of eThekwini.

The family have requested a private funeral.

Deceased – the Rev Magagane’s father-in-law passed away

It is with deep regret and sadness that we inform you of the passing away of Mr Madiela Robert Manabile, the Rev Magagane’s father-in-law. He was admitted to hospital on Wednesday and passed away early on Thursday morning.

He was resident in Uitkyk number 2, Bochum within Limpopo Presbytery. He will be laid to rest on Saturday 31 March 2018.

Please uphold the Magagane and Manabile families in your prayers during this time of loss and grief.
